About Us

​Nanolux is a Swiss deep-tech company based in Zug. We develop a next-generation dry-physical robotic process that selectively recovers valuable fissile isotopes from spent nuclear fuel and enables their reuse for energy.

​Guided by the principle “Waste to Watt,” we transform long-lived radioactive residues into a safe, CO₂-free energy source. Our technology significantly reduces both the volume and long-term radiotoxicity of high-level waste that would otherwise require geological disposal.

​What sets us apart is the integration of robotic workflows, digital twins (twin-tech), and a dry, modular process architecture designed for safety, precision, and reproducibility. The core of our technology is non-chemical sorting of SNF based on intrinsic signatures, enabling consistent quality and efficient throughput—from initial conditioning to the delivery of transport- and storage-ready materials.

​Beyond our core processes, we develop mobile solutions such as MobiMOX, a licensed on-site unit that accepts SNF, processes it via dry routes, separates isotopes, and produces compliant, transport- and storage-ready forms. This minimizes interface risks, reduces logistical complexity, and streamlines operations for partners and facility operators.

​Our mission is clear: to enable a sustainable, safe, and economically viable future for nuclear recycling. By advancing circular use of nuclear materials, we aim to support national goals for energy independence and a carbon-free energy strategy.

​Nanolux is an engineering-focused team working on dry, robotic solutions for spent nuclear fuel processing. Our work combines nuclear engineering, process design, robotics, and fuel cycle technologies.
We develop systems for non-chemical separation and integration into advanced fuel cycle architectures.The focus is on reducing process complexity, eliminating liquid phases, and enabling modular, automated operation.
